Birmingham Taco Fest

Taco ’bout a lot of fun! Bare Hands, Inc. invites you to the seventh annual Birmingham Taco Fest, featuring 25 of Birmingham’s top taco vendors and food trucks, dessert vendors, music, community arts activities and an art market! Come and join in on a taco-tastic time that is packed with family fun, food and lots of flavor! As a cultural and culinary experience for attendees, Taco Fest creates awareness of the many restaurants and artists that are proud to call Birmingham home. Proceeds benefit Bare Hands, Inc.’s mission of collaborating with individuals and local communities to create immersive arts experiences and arts education programs.

Advance tickets are $10. Day of the event general admission is $15. Children 12 and under are free. General Admission tickets are for admittance only and do not include beverages or food. This is a rain-or-shine event.

Taco vendors include Los Valedores, Taqueria Noa Noa, El Sazón Casero', Fat Charles BBQ, The Lil Bougie Foodie, El Compa, Futuristic Vegan, Tacos Veracruz, Taqueria Viva Mexico, Paleteria y Neveria Lichita la Oaxaquena, Mi Pueblo Supermarket, Elotes Mi Pueblo, Taqueria Mexico, Taqueria Don Pepe, Cantina Tortilla Grill, Condado Tacos, Taqueria J&C, Tacos Taluca, LLDM Church, Pollo Goyo, Taco Tuesdays, La Tarasca Snacks and More, Taqueria Las Garzas, Taqueria Gama and Taco Morro Loco. A panel of judges will determine Birmingham’s best tacos and will pick winners for the pork, beef, chicken, and specialty taco categories while the “People’s Choice” award will be chosen by attendees eating their way through the festival.

Event goers can pair their taco selection with delicious beverages, including ice-cold Pepsi/Buffalo Rock products, cocktails by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bacardi Rum and Tequila Cazadores, along with refreshing Patrón Tequila margaritas and authentic Latino cervezas, including Estrella Jalisco, Famosa and more.

Additionally, attendees can indulge in sweet treats from Sugar & Ice Dessert Truck, Pasteles LaMoreliAna Pastries & Desserts, Lemonade Junkeez LLC, Ivory LeShores Gourmet Bread Pudding and Cheesecakes, Terrific Treatz, ThirsTea Cafe, Naughty But Nice Kettle Corn Co., RaspafruitsGc, Southern Snow Shaved Ice, Emily’s Heirloom Pound Cakes and Adored Sweets.

The art market will have handmade items for sale. Current artist vendors include: Dolce Vita Candle Co / The Green Queen, Wolfie Tango Foxtrot, Nazar hecho a mano, Comfy Pants, Blind Dog Biscuit, Spark Permanent Jewelry, Bubble Nuggets and Be the One by Bernice, Mark Alexander Clay Co., Sandy’s Boutique, LM Creations, Prestige Candles, De la Cruz Jewelry, JDA Kuztoms, Stokehold Art - Justin Stoke and The Tiny Guayaba - Yuliana Zavala.

There will also be a Community Arts Activity Zone for all ages to enjoy, free of charge until 4 p.m. Activities will feature paper decorations in the style of Mexican mirrors by Fiesta BHAM, Flower Prints by MAKEbhm and Screen Printing by MAKEbhm. Signs around the property will direct festival goers to the shade trees near the spray pond where the arts activities will be. Nearby until 7 p.m., there will be face painting by Painted Personalities and Shirley’s Face Painting, balloon art by Mr. Bill the Balloon Man, Jefferson County Master Gardeners and Pierce Farms farm stand.

The Sloss field will be open to limited parking. First come first serve. No fees. The two lots directly across the street from the field gate are the main parking areas. Those lots are $10 to park.
